Helen Longino, professor of philosophy at Stanford University, has written books and given lectures on the philosophy of science, social epistemology, and feminist philosophy. An important contemporary philosopher of science, Longino is considered one of the most influential living feminist philosophers of science. In her speech at Sabancı University, Longino talked about the validated values in science and unconventional feminist values, and questioned the limits, possible applications and extensions of feminist values. She concluded her speech by saying, "feminism needs science and science needs feminism."
